May 3 Meet Results

On a great day for racing, the Pomperaug girl's track and field team faced a very good Weston team and battled them throughout the day. While Weston beat us 79-70, they brought out the best in us as all the impressive performances show. Stratford and Oxford also had some strong showings and good athletes competing. We beat Oxford 105.5 - 42.5 and Stratford 118 to 27.

Some of the Pomperaug highlights:
  • Jessica Miller: 1st in long jump (16' 5.5"), tied for 1st in 100 (12.9), 2nd in 200 (26.5)
  • Kasey Dean: 1st in javelin (101' 6") and 2nd in shot put (27' 5.75")
  • Brittany Mendelson: 1st in 1600 (5:29.8)
  • Alex Wilds: 1st in 300 hurdles (47.6)
  • Abby Ruane: 1st in 800 (2:24.9)
  • Sara Greco: 1st in 3200 (11:42.5)
  • 4x800 relay (Rouse, Mooney, Goldstein, Jakiela): 1st in 10:40.9
  • 4x400 relay (N. Mendelson, B. Mendelson, Ruane, Wilds): 1st with a 4:08.6
  • 4x100 relay (Wilds, Fox, Curcio, Fusco): 2nd 52.3
  • Marina Alfonso: 3rd in 100 hurdles (16.9) and 300 hurdles (49.3)
  • Cierra Rouse: 3rd in 1600 (6:09.1)
  • Kayla Fox: 3rd in 400 (62.9)
  • Alexia Jakiela: 3rd in 800 (2:40.6)
  • Nikki Mendelson: 3rd in javelin (79' 3")
With these victories, our record is now 7-1. Good luck next week at Joel Barlow.
